About WEG
Founded in 1961, in the region of Jaguará do Sul in Santa Catarina, the management and skills of a mechanic came together to found the company Eletromotores Jaraguá. The company became known in the region by several entrepreneurs, and after some time the company was renamed WEG, to honor its founders, using the initials of their names. Today it is recognized as one of the largest factories producing electrical equipment in the world.
In the 1980s, WEB, which initially only produced electric motors, began to expand its production and started manufacturing products for industrial automation, electronic components, liquid paints, powder paints, distribution and power transformers and electro-insulating varnishes.
